Yesterday was the award ceremony and inauguration of the SIGNÚ International Competition of Illustration for Students 2019 organized by the Universidad UTE in collaboration with the Alianza Francesa.
Nearly 600 works were received from 40 universities from 16 countries (China, Poland, Ecuador, Denmark, Colombia, France, Iran, Mexico and many more) of which 80 were selected for the exhibition in the beautiful Gallery of Art in the Alianza Francesa Quito, Ecuador.
It was a huge pleasure to be the director of this event which was a long process of roughly 10 months. This project could not have been made possible without the help and support of many people; firstly I would like to thank the wonderful team of teachers from the career of Graphic Design, the Department of Communication (a special mention to Maria Sol Meneses who believed in our vision from the very start), all the universities and colleges who participated, to all the team of the Alianza Francesa (a special mention to Charles Vix who opened the doors to your amazing building, and finally thank you to Esteban Vallejo the Director of the career of Graphic Design for trusting in my crazy idea and for being by my side throughout all the process.
